I have recently spent some time watching debates between some of the most brilliant thinkers in our day about the origin of the world. I am thankful for those like John Lennox who can argue (convincingly from my viewpoint) with Richard Dawkins and others.

I have also been listening to scholars who argue for the solid proof of, not only the life of Jesus here on earth, but His death and resurrection. I am impressed with their research and knowledge and am thankful for their scholarly insights.

However, I am not one of them. I don’t have the mind nor the education to argue from their vantage point. So where does that leave me? Do I have no basis for what I believe? For me there is a simply truth expressed in a familiar hymn. “You ask me how I know He lives. He lives within my heart.”

That’s not an argument that would convince a Richard Dawkins. It’s not an argument based on scholarly study. But it is a reality beyond argument or scholarly insight. The final proof of the living Savior is the reality of His presence in the lives of His children. We serve a Risen Savior!

A belated Happy Easter!
