I just read these words this morning and found such comfort and encouragement in them: “For You alone know the hearts of all men.” (1 Kings 8:39)
I have spent the last few days dealing with some painful issues with someone. Over and over again I thought, “If they just knew my heart.” If they could have truly known and understood my heart, it would have made so many of our words unnecessary.
God knows my heart! I don’t have to explain myself to Him. He understands my deepest pain, my greatest longings, and my earnest desire to live in a way that pleases and honors Him – even when I fail.
I am so thankful for a God who sees beyond my blundering ways to a heart that longs to honor and please Him.
