I’ve sensed the call of God today to walk with Him a closer way,
A way not understood by some, and so I pause, yet He says, “Come.

He bids me hear no other voice, to make His way my only choice,
But I am comfortable right here with friends and things that I hold dear,

His path ahead seems filled with loss, I see the shadow of the cross,
And though the end I cannot see, I fear this path means death for me!

And self would choose a brighter way, still, “Follow me,” I hear Him say,
“The path you dread is one I’ve trod, the end you cannot see is God.”

And so I follow, fearful, yes, but knowing that His way is best
I choose the path to Calvary, for death to self means Christ to me.
