Do you realize how often the words unfailing and love are linked together in Scripture? I’m sure there’s a website where I could find the exact number of times, but it’s not the exact number that’s important – it’s the emphasis God brings to that truth through His repetitive use of that phrase.

God’s love never fails to watch over us and care for us. It never fails to comfort, protect, and discipline us. It never fails to find delight in us. It’s a love that brings blessings, yet permits sorrow, and never fails to choose which of those is best and perfect for us. But above all else, it’s a love that “became obedient to death – even death on a cross!”* There is no other explanation for Calvary apart from the unfailing love of God.

God’s love isn’t just deep, it isn’t just forever – it’s unfailing, and I find great comfort in that.

*Philippians 2:8 (NIV)

Ok…so I checked and it appears 39 times in the Old Testament. Not that it’s important. 🙂
